Holding the faded pink rabbit closer, she knocked on the cabin door as she drew in a deep breath.  Rock Lee opened the door and looked at the younger girl with concern as she toyed with her long hair nervously.  “Hello, Hinata,” he said cheerily.

“Um, hi, Lee.  Is Naruto here?”  Her cheeks tinted pink as she ended the fidgeting with her hair by wrapping her arms around her stuffed rabbit once again.

“Naruto?  Yes, he is here.  Hold on a minute.”  Lee disappeared from the doorway and there were hushed voices inside.  The door opened again to reveal Naruto Uzumaki, his blonde, spiky hair shining like the sun from the lights within.

“Hey, Hinata.  What are you doing here?”  He looked at the rabbit in her arms before his eyes traveled up to her face.  He took in every last detail and etched in his mind how her hair glowed against the moonlight like the silver lining of the moon, itself.

Her eyes dropped down to the boy’s feet as her face turned a deep fuchsia.  “Well, uh…  Sakura and Ino are fighting again and I was wondering if I could sleep here for the night,” she stammered.  Hinata quickly started rambling out offers to persuade him, “I can just sleep on the floor or in a corner or something.  You don’t have to—“

“Hinata…”  Naruto smiled in the side of the entryway as he stood with the door standing wide open.  She hadn’t even noticed that he had agreed to let her stay until her name was spoken a second time.  “Come on in, Hinata.”

Hinata’s blush receded.  “Thanks.”  She stepped inside and looked at his two cabin mates: Rock Lee and her cousin Neji Hyuuga.  Looking over at the blonde, he motioned for one of the beds.  It was obviously his by the bright orange and royal blue bedcovers and pillow.

“You can have my bed, I don’t mind,” Naruto smiled.

Preparing to climb into his own bed, Neji raised an eyebrow at the two before glancing over at Lee, who now appeared to be sleeping.  He watched as his younger cousin obediently climbed into the bed with a quiet ‘thank-you’.  When Naruto walked towards the bathroom, Neji met his gaze in a warning that the blonde didn’t understand.

When he returned, all three of his cabin mates were sleep.  Naruto walked over to his bed where Hinata lay sleeping peacefully.  Smiling down at her, he pulled the bedcovers over her shoulders before sitting down on the bed.

Without making a sound, he watched her sleep before bending over and planting a light and gentle kiss on Hinata’s lips.  When he pulled away and looked into her sleeping face, she smiled and pulled her bunny closer to her chest.  “Naruto…” she whispered in her sleep.

Naruto waited to hear more but nothing came so he climbed off of the bed, laying down next to it on the floor and drifted to sleep, gazing at the angel sleeping in his bed.
